Air source heat pumps use the heat in the air instead of the heat in the ground. They work down to -20 degrees air temperature. Although not as efficient as ground source with an average efficiency of around 300% is still desirable. Air source heat pumps are very flexible, they can be linked to existing heating systems with ease and have the flexibility to be "docked" with other heating sources.
